Nutrition

Using Your Tools

Exercise alone will most likely not provide you all the results you are attempting to achieve. Exercise is a stimulus, a catalyst to initiate changes in your life. In order for your body to change, it needs nutrients. With the proper nutrients your body will have the tools it needs to look and feel great.
One of the most common mistakes that people make when starting an exercise program is immediately reducing their caloric intake but when it comes to exercise and losing body fat, nutrition is probably one of the most misunderstood topics. There are infinite sources of information on the subject and it seems each article contradicts another. I believe the contradictions exist because we are all different and what is good for one is not always good for another. I use several proven tests to determine where to look for the best nutritional advice by certified specialists specific to who you are and I help you to implement those in your life.

Fundamentals for proper nutrition
  • Determine your caloric needs.
  • Split your calories between 5-6 meals.
  • DO NOT skip meals.
  • Get the proper percentage of protein, carbohydrates, and fat for your body type.
  • Drink at least the minimum recommended of 8 eight-ounce glasses of water each day.
  • Limit refined sugars.
