Quote of the Day

"Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up."

Tai Cheng Week five

Bleed the Valve

This is a new term I have learned from my Tai Cheng. It reminds me to breathe and release the tension I am holding. We work under pressure for so many hours at a time and we tend to habitually hold that tension when the pressure leaves. Bleed the value, let go of it and continue to strive to not react so in the first place. :-)

Never Give Up

I have a new higher understanding of “Never Give Up” and “Building Mastery” after a “Bahowie”.  (See previous posts by the same names) I am seeing very well how our growth is a cumulative process. I wasted a lot of years being impatient for immediate results, but they are like an immense canvas and we can only see and paint a little pinhole at a time. Becoming so impatient because you can't see how your painting looks in the big picture throws your artwork off focus, so then you scribble in anger some unrelated doodle! Finally, you start feeling good and want to paint again...if we keep feeling good (this is about our relationship with our self), keep going around the canvas and painting the best we can, eventually that pinhole gets larger and you can see bigger pieces of the picture at a time. You see how the effort you have put in has lead to the joy in your heart and the good feeling in your body. Let's all feel good and keep seeing ourselves the best we can.  I will see you where the pinhole becomes a dime.

To begin again means that you won't give up.
To begin again means you're trying.
You can either start over and live your life
Or spend the rest of your life slowly dying.

It is never the falling that makes us fail.
It is never the pain or the crying.
You can never fail in life, my friend,
Unless you give up trying.
