Khalil Gibran quotes for full moon

"No man can reveal to you aught but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knowledge. The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his faith and his lovingness.If he is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.”

When you reach the end of what you should know, you will be at the beginning of what you should sense.

“Say not, ‘I have found the truth,’ but rather, ‘I have found a truth.’ Say not, ‘ I have found the path of the soul.’ Say rather, ‘I have met the soul walking upon my path.’ For the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.”

Power of Clapping 👏

 Power of Clapping 👏

Google question: AI Overview

Clapping possesses power beyond mere applause, acting as a tool for social connection, physical health benefits, and mental stimulation, from boosting cognitive function and mood by activating brain areas to fostering a sense of unity in groups. Its impacts can be both physical and spiritual, with clapping activating acupressure points in the hands, releasing endorphins, and even being used in religious or spiritual practices for energy and cleansing.

Cognitive & Mental Benefits

Brain Boost:
Clapping stimulates brain areas linked to motor control and coordination, which can improve focus and overall mind engagement.
Mood Enhancement:
The act of clapping releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters that promote feelings of happiness and well-being.
Memory & Focus:
Rhythmic clapping can sharpen memory and concentration, especially when practiced by children.
Stress Relief:
Group clapping activities can reduce feelings of anxiety and stress.

Physical & Energetic Benefits

Acupressure Points:
Clapping activates specific acupressure points in the palms that correspond to various organs in the body, promoting energy flow and potentially helping with physical health.
Energy Activation:
It can be used as a spiritual tool to stimulate energy, clear blockages, and raise one's energetic frequency.
Grounding:
The practice can help focus attention on the present moment and promote mindfulness.

Social & Spiritual Power

Social Validation:
Applause serves as a universally recognized form of social validation, acknowledging achievements and boosting confidence and motivation.
Unity & Bonding:
Clapping together creates a powerful sense of unity and togetherness, strengthening social bonds within a group.
Celebration & Connection:
It's a way to express joy, gratitude, and a strong collective spiritual connection.
Spiritual Practice:
In many traditions, clapping is a form of ritual for invoking blessings, showing reverence, and fostering spiritual connection.

Practical Application

Daily Routine:
Incorporate clapping into your daily routine as a simple ritual to "reset" your energy and enhance clarity and vitality.
Mindful Clapping:
When done with intention, clapping becomes a form of spiritual activation, going beyond mere rhythm to connect with higher spiritual energies.

Words for life. Strive to be Happy.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender

be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;

and listen to others,

even the dull and the ignorant;

they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,

they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,

you may become vain and bitter;

for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;

it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;

for the world is full of trickery.

But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;

many persons strive for high ideals;

and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.

Especially, do not feign affection.

Neither be cynical about love;

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment

it is as perennial as the grass

Take kindly the counsel of the years,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,

be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,

no less than the trees and the stars;

you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you,

no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,

whatever you conceive Him to be,

and whatever your labors and aspirations,

in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,

it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

Voice of Experience

Life experiences provide valuable lessons, giving older individuals a deeper understanding of people, situations, and the world.

Aging comes with a wealth of benefits that enrich life in meaningful ways. Here are some of the advantages of growing older:

1. Wisdom and Perspective

Life experiences provide valuable lessons, giving older individuals a deeper understanding of people, situations, and the world.

The ability to see the bigger picture often leads to better decision-making and a more balanced perspective on challenges.

2. Emotional Resilience

With age comes a greater capacity to manage emotions and navigate life's ups and downs with grace.

Challenges faced and overcome create a sense of inner strength and adaptability.

3. Authenticity and Self-Acceptance

Many older people feel more comfortable in their own skin, prioritizing authenticity over societal expectations.

There’s often less concern with external validation and more focus on what truly matters to them.

4. Stronger Relationships

As priorities shift, deeper, more meaningful connections with family and friends often take center stage.

Older adults often become mentors, offering guidance and support to younger generations.

5. Freedom and Clarity

Many enjoy more freedom to pursue passions, hobbies, and interests that were previously set aside due to career or family responsibilities.

Prioritizing what brings joy and fulfillment becomes a guiding principle.

6. Gratitude and Appreciation

A greater appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, from nature to meaningful conversations, often grows with age.

Gratitude for health, relationships, and past experiences fosters a sense of contentment.

7. Financial Stability

Many older adults enjoy the financial benefits of years of hard work, including savings, investments, and retirement plans.

This financial stability can allow for travel, leisure, or supporting causes they care about.

8. Legacy and Impact

Older individuals have the opportunity to reflect on the legacy they’re creating and the impact they’ve had on others.

Sharing their stories, values, and wisdom becomes a way to inspire and guide future generations.

9. Health Knowledge and Care

With experience, many adopt healthier lifestyles and practices that promote longevity and well-being.

A better understanding of their body’s needs often leads to more mindful self-care.

10. Time for Reflection and Growth

Aging provides time to reflect on life’s journey, fostering personal growth and a sense of spiritual or philosophical fulfillment.

It’s a stage where inner peace often becomes more attainable.

Growing older is a journey filled with opportunities for growth, joy, and enrichment. Each stage of life offers its unique gifts, and with age, these gifts often shine even brighter

2025 Happy New Year!

Farewell 2024

 A year of resilience born from countless challenges; courage forged through unwavering spirit.

 We grew slowly, planting deep roots, and rising with strength awakened by the storms.

 When waves crashed, we embraced the stillness. When tides turned, we became the wind. Healing flowed like a river, guiding us toward horizons full of light and possibility.

 Today, we honor the wealth this year brought—it’s heartbreaking moments, its radiant new paths. No regrets, only wisdom woven into our life force, shaping tomorrow with grace.

 Celebrate for the promises we kept to ourselves, the progress we made, and the times we held steady through storms. For the lessons learned from our hearts, and the changes they inspired.

 2024, a year of courage, love, and endless hope, has changed us forever. We step forward, radiant and ready.

Where to from here?

I posted on my Facebook "Retire with Fire" Page that I had decided not to renew my physical fit trainer certification of 21 years. Over the years I have learned to truly affect our physical, it starts with our mental. The focus of positve self talk has developed interestingly through the years and going forward there is going to be a focus of helping from a new perspective as a Life Coach. A Life Coach with a focus of balance, physical and emotional well-being, and greater consciousness and self-awareness. My FB personal page was hacked and disabled. I tried for long time to get assistence from Facebook with no help or acknowledgement. Years of family memories gone. Be aware folks and don't post things that you don't have duplicates, it is not secure to keep your memories. I cannot access my Fit Page/Grandmother Sandy as it was linked to that profile. It is frozen in time the day my profile was taken away, October 7, 2023. It is https://www.facebook.com/retirewithfire and there is a link on the right side of this page. Of course, I will not be using Facebook for anything important. Going forward I hope to focus here on the website and build a sharing spot for our reflections.

“A prescription to walk 30 minutes per day could be one of the most important prescriptions a patient could receive.” – Dr. JoAnn Manson

Happy New Year! Wow, didn’t realize so much time had passed since I posted here. (Remember you are always free to check out latest posts on my FB page, just click on the Retire with Fire link to the right.) I have been knee deep in my own recovery lessons and picked up momentum to well being after my physical issues in 2015. Due to my setback I have learned by living it again, how very much what we are able to consistently do adds to our feeling good….. even on that day you make think it is insignificant to where you want to be or where you were. I learned more this time, I believe due to the references I had already lived, than I did many years ago when I first started this journey. As always, I will emphatically say, there is absolutely nothing that will give you a higher return for your time spent than physical exercise. We need it to be our best selves, just start by walking 30 minutes a day and see how much better you feel! Only 30 minutes in exchange for better well being all day long! I have set a goal for a 5K in 2016 and looking forward to Retiring with Fire!

Do you think I am going to take it easy?

Recent experience has indelibly etched in me the importance of our consistent exercise.

In March I had a detached retina. Recovery from surgery mandated that I could not exercise for ten weeks!  I had more aches and pains from not having physical movement than I ever did from it. I still had go to my job and sit in front of the computer for eight hours, but I could not even stretch to work it out.

When I could start back on my exercise program I was so happy. Even though I have many times counseled clients to start easy, I expected I would not have lost too much of the  base I created.  I started enthusiastically with strength and cardio similar to what I was doing, slightly lighter and shorter. Only to find out the back ache was not just chair and lack of movement, I really had something out of place and by doing a good workout on top of it, I really hurt myself.

Another six weeks later and I am just now getting back to feeling balanced and no pain. This is just from rolling and stretching every day, and a bit of chiropractic assistance.  I am now at the place where I can start building a real workout again.

Do you think I am going to take it easy?

STAY STRONG

Is it true that lifting weights causes women to bulk up? While on a weight lifting program, the right hormones (testosterone) are necessary in order to bulk up. Women’s testosterone levels are much lower than men’s, so in most cases, they are not capable of building large muscles. In fact, since muscle takes up less room than fat, women tend to lose inches when they strength train. So in addition to the physical benefits (increased metabolism, decreased risk of osteoporosis, increased strength), strength training will help you slim down too! Women, in fact, are more likely to tone up from strength training rather than bulk up. Research shows that women can add up to 30% lean muscle and end up looking thinner, feeling stronger and being firmer. Our society and pop culture seem to associate weight training with oversized muscles, but that’s just one avenue, which is extremely difficult for most people (including men) to achieve. Women with an intense fear of becoming large (likely due to these images and myths) as a result of weight training are at a disadvantage when it comes to their health. The problem most women run into isn’t building too much muscle, but not building enough. This sets them up for increased risk of osteoporosis later in life, as well as a reduction in muscle mass of about 2-5% per year, which has an adverse affect on metabolism (and can result in weight gain).
